Denman's golf course is exactly what a country course should be: well kept, unpretentious, quick to get around, and staffed by people who are pleased to see a visitor. It's five minutes from the motor inn.
The course
A pleasant layout with mature trees, generous fairways and the kind of greens that reward a bit of local knowledge. Kangaroos are regulars in the late afternoon and will happily watch you three-putt.
Visitors
Green fees are modest and visitors are welcome — call ahead to check competition days if you want a relaxed social round. The clubhouse is a good spot for a cold one afterwards.
- Late afternoon is the best time: soft light, cool air and kangaroos everywhere.
- Ring ahead on weekends when club competitions are on.
- Plenty of room at the motor inn to park with clubs in the boot.
A short drive from the village on the edge of town.
